Dadirri - First Nations Program

Harnessing your connection to land to deepen your connection with yourself, others, and the world.
Dadirri is an Indigenous contemplative practice of deep listening and reflection, offering students an opportunity to connect with themselves, others, and the natural world on a deeper level. Rooted in stillness, awareness, and understanding, Dadirri encourages students to pause, reflect, and build emotional resilience in their everyday lives through their connection to land.
Dr. Miriam-Rose Ungunmerr-Baumann AM, a distinguished First Nations educator and Senior Australian of the Year 2021, shares the gift of Dadirri with all Australians as a gesture of reconciliation and a pathway toward a shared future. Through her teachings, she offers an invitation to engage with the wisdom and cultural heritage of her people. The contemplative practice of Dadirri has been adapted by Lela McGregor, a leading teacher of spiritual and contemplative practices.
By incorporating Dadirri into school wellbeing programs, students gain a unique opportunity to engage with and honour First Nations wisdom, learning about their deep spiritual connection to the land. This is not just an act of respect but a way to foster a greater understanding of Australias rich history and heritage.
