Helping young people find their bearings and move forward
The Compass is an innovative, evidence-based tool designed to support students in navigating their whole-person wellbeing across four key domains: self, others, the world, and overall wellbeing. Rather than defining who they are, The Compass helps students explore where they are in the present moment, recognising that life is fluid and ever-changing.
Students complete a 15-minute survey and receive a personalised report reflecting their current perspective on life across four key domains. This report does not define who they are, but rather provides insight into where they are at in life right now, offering a snapshot of their thoughts, values, and experiences in the present moment. Through self-reflective activities, students develop greater self-awareness of their lives and feel empowered to make meaningful decisions about their future. The program encourages young people to pause, reflect, and assess whether they are giving attention to the areas of life that truly matter—such as their sense of identity, personal growth, and community connections.
The tool visually presents students’ perceptions of their own lives in a colourful and informative display, offering valuable insights into their inner world, relationships, and external influences. It also complements career surveys and transition planning, helping students align their future pathways with their values, strengths, and aspirations.
By fostering deeper self-awareness and connection, The Compass equips students with the clarity and confidence to move forward with greater purpose and direction as they navigate life’s next steps.
Suggested Student Level: Year 12 and University-aged students (17+)
