The Highway Journey is an immersive after-school program that brings together students from different schools to explore their identity, build confidence, and form lasting friendships and connections.The Highway Journey is a one-of-a-kind opportunity that inspires confidence, nurtures belonging, and empowers students to discover their place in the world.

Key elements of the program

  • School Cluster-Based Approach 4-5 schools within the same area bring 15 students each to participate in this transformative 5-week program.

  • Rotating School Hosts Each week, a different school hosts the session, allowing students to experience new environments, perspectives, values, and customs.

  • Facilitated by Accredited Youth Companions Trained Highway Youth Companions lead meaningful discussions, group activities, and reflective conversations that foster deep connection and understanding.

  • A Unique Shared Experience Each session includes engaging group activities, world learning experiences, and a shared meal to strengthen community and meaningful connections.
