Putting together a linkedIn profile

Okay so the first thing to focus on when creating a LinkedIn profile (after searching for an amazing photo of yourself) is the “about” section. Here are some tips:

It can be read in 30 seconds or less (don’t bore them).

Pack it with industry-related keywords, core skills, talents and so on

Make it professional – no spelling and grammar mistakes

Tell about what make you unique: where is your career headed? How would others describe you? What are your personal values and traits?

Okay, on to the rest.

Upload your photo – always be dressed to impress

Customise your public profile URL. Your address should read www.linkedin.com/in/yourname

Fill up the additional sections. Put in your accomplishments, volunteer experience, skills, expertise etc

Expand on your work experience in the “Experience” section. Tell them the specifics of what you did, and the outcome you achieved.

Customise your “Skills & Endorsement” section. List your relevant skills and get people to endorse them.

Include recommendations. If you have any written recommendations from fellow students, co-workers, teachers, slap them on your profile – they’ll look great.

It’s time to get started!

Change your perspective and uncover a way forward for you!

Here are some things that can help you with that.
